This site is a treasure trove of history, with ongoing excavations offering a window into the past.
Post-lunch and exploration at Huatta, we continue through varied landscapes for another three and a half hours until reaching the welcoming village of Chillipawa at 3,750 meters. Ausangate and the imposing Mount Veronica. The descent from Puccacasa is an equally stunning two and a half hour journey, winding through landscapes home to llamas, alpacas, and traditional potato farms, culminating at the Chancachuco campsite at 4,177 meters.
